Hong Kong, a burgeoning hub for cryptocurrency trading, sees another milestone as Nasdaq-listed Tiger Brokers introduces cryptocurrency support on its Tiger Trade mobile and desktop app.
Professional investors gain access to 18 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ether, alongside traditional assets like stocks, options, and futures.
Targeting Professional Investors in Hong Kong
In collaboration with HashKey Exchange, Tiger Brokers targets professional investors in Hong Kong, setting criteria such as a minimum investment portfolio of 8 million Hong Kong dollars ($1 million) for individuals and 40 million Hong Kong dollars ($5 million) for corporate entities.
The platform has also expressed intentions to extend its cryptocurrency trading services to retail investors pending regulatory approval.
Additionally, it is exploring the possibility of integrating cryptocurrency spot withdrawals and deposits into its platform. This could further enhancing user experience and convenience.
Tiger Brokers Gives Access to Bitcoin ETFs
Tiger Brokers users can also access U.S.-listed Bitcoin ETFs and newly launched Hong Kong spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs, providing diverse investment opportunities.
Despite modest trading volumes on debut, Hong Kong’s spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs amassed over $200 million in assets, signaling investor interest.
Industry experts speculate on potential access to these ETFs in mainland China, possibly through the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect. This could further facilitate cross-border investment between the two markets.
