Solana Foundation and DMCC Partner to Boost UAE’s Blockchain Ecosystem

The Solana Foundation has joined forces with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), an economic free zone in the United Arab Emirates, as an ecosystem partner. The partnership, announced on October 15, will see Solana, with its blockchain platform, offering technical and business development support to members of the DMCC Crypto Centre. Additionally, they will conduct webinars and educational courses on various Web3 topics while extending their existing grant program within the DMCC.

The CEO of the DMCC, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, stated that Solana’s current partners will receive special privileges within the DMCC, assuring that they will provide complimentary setup and business licensing for Solana ecosystem projects while their members can access a world-class blockchain platform and dedicated Solana engineering teams that can take their businesses to new heights.

Notably, DMCC’s ecosystem partners include entities such as Bybit, DWF Labs, TDeFi, Brinc, and others, with the DMCC boasting a total membership of 23,000 companies. Alongside the Abu Dhabi Global Market and Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, the DMCC is among the first three economic free zones established in the UAE to enhance its investment environment. A new addition to this trio is the Ras Al Khaimah Digital Assets Oasis, introduced during Blockchain Life 2023. As of September 2023, the Solana network had secured the 10th position globally in terms of total value locked, equivalent to approximately $359 million.
