Oasys Partners with AltLayer for Simplified Metaverse Rollout

Blockchain-based gaming platform Oasys has partnered with AltLayer, a roll-up platform, to streamline the deployment of metaverses within the Oasys ecosystem. This collaboration, announced on Tuesday, leverages AltLayer’s Rollup-as-a-Service feature, offering a simplified experience for builders launching blockchain games and metaverses within Oasys.

Launched in February 2022, Oasys focuses on increasing mainstream adoption of play-to-earn (P2E) blockchain games, emphasizing a “zero gas fee experience” and asset portability across its projects. Oasys, led by influential figures in gaming and crypto gaming, aims to support smaller game developers in deploying their games more effortlessly on the blockchain.

Oasys Director Daiki Moriyama highlighted the importance of catering to smaller game developers and facilitating easy game deployment on the blockchain, especially with the expected growth of small and medium-sized developers. The move aligns with Oasys’ two-layer architecture, emphasizing the creation of a user-friendly “Verse” within its second layer.

“While large companies like Bandai Namco would prefer to build their own fully customized Verse on Oasys L2, some smaller game developers would prefer to more easily build a casual Verse and deploy their games on it.”

Discussing trends in blockchain gaming for 2024, Moriyama noted the industry’s evolution, describing it as “thicker” than the previous year.

He emphasized the emergence of blockchain-gaming-focused marketing businesses and the increasing involvement of companies from various industries in Web3 as positive indicators for the Web3 gaming sector. The collaboration with AltLayer represents a strategic move by Oasys to enhance accessibility for game developers and further solidify its position in the evolving blockchain gaming landscape.
