MoonPay Contributes to Coinbase’s Stand With Crypto Initiative

Cryptocurrency payment firm MoonPay has made a significant donation to Coinbase’s Stand With Crypto initiative, emphasizing the importance of crypto advocacy in shaping future regulations.

MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright highlighted the pivotal role of the upcoming U.S. election in defining the industry’s trajectory. He stressed the need for clear regulatory frameworks that balance innovation and consumer protection.

Stand With Crypto: Political Action for Crypto Rights

The donation from MoonPay follows the recent launch of a political action committee (PAC) by Coinbase’s Stand With Crypto project.

With a membership of approximately 450,000 individuals, the PAC aims to endorse and support pro-crypto candidates running in the 2024 U.S. elections.

Furthermore, Stand With Crypto chief strategist Nick Carr expressed the initiative’s goal of advocating for candidates who prioritize crypto rights and innovation. At the time of reporting, the PAC has amassed over $86 million in contributions, signaling strong support for its mission.

Continued Advocacy Efforts

Stand With Crypto’s PAC initiative builds upon the project’s ongoing efforts to champion cryptocurrency advocacy since its launch in November 2023 by Coinbase.

While the crypto industry navigates evolving regulatory landscapes, initiatives like SWC play a vital role. They represent the interests of crypto enthusiasts and foster a conducive environment for innovation and growth.
