Bitvavo Expands Staking Services with Figment

Netherlands-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitvavo is set to enhance its staking services through a strategic partnership with staking platform Figment. This move aims to leverage Figment’s institutional-grade infrastructure to offer enhanced staking capabilities for a variety of tokens on behalf of Bitvavo’s users.

Figment Provides Staking Infrastructure for Bitvavo

Figment, known for attracting significant investments including from Galaxy Digital in 2021, has announced its collaboration with Bitvavo. The partnership will see Figment providing staking infrastructure for the Dutch exchange, enabling Bitvavo to stake user assets across multiple proof-of-stake protocols such as Ethereum, Solana, and Near.

CEO Mark Nuvelstijn Emphasizes Importance of Staking Services

Bitvavo’s CEO and co-founder Mark Nuvelstijn highlighted the significance of this collaboration in enhancing the exchange’s offerings. He emphasized the importance of staking services in the cryptocurrency industry and noted that working with Figment aligns with Bitvavo’s commitment to providing top-notch security and safety for its user base, which spans over 1.5 million users across the Benelux region.

Partnership Aims for Expanded Staking Rewards and Network Performance

Eva Lawrence, Figment’s head of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, mentioned that the partnership has been in development for six months. The goal is to spearhead Bitvavo’s staking services across Europe, providing access to staking rewards on newly launched networks. Additionally, Figment will set up dedicated validator nodes for Bitvavo to ensure high-quality network performance and security.
